We have a dog.

If you ask PerryAnn what my favorite kind of animal is, she will tell you "stuffed".  I am not an animal person at all.  They smell and make you smell, they poop and pee and shed and lick themselves and did I mention they smell?  PerryAnn had a fish once named Goldie, of course.  An 8th grader handed it to her at a festival when she was 5 year old.  I am sure the 8th grader's Mom told her to give it to a cute kid whos Mom would fall for the begging and sad eyes so that she would not have to be responsible for the thing. What the heck, I said.  A goldfish lives what, 2 - 3 months tops?  We had that goldfish for 5 years.  I fed it everyday and cleaned out it's bowl every few days and it smelled horrid.   I even replaced it 4 times with other "Goldies" when it did die because I thought PA would be devastated. "Never Again" I said.  (Remind me to tell you about the dog Dan sent home with us as a gift for PerryAnn while he was living in Tennessee.  We still blame things on that dog.  Can't find our car keys? ... Pup Pup took them.  Someone ate the last something...Pup Pup ate it!)  So Never Again was last Wednesday.  Not a holiday mentioned on most calendars but one I will remember for the next 14 years or so.   She is a lab named Addie.  Cute, sweet and cuddly.  8 weeks old.  How could I deprive my family of experiencing the love and joy of a dog...riiigghht?  "We'll take family walks", they said.  "We'll train her", they said.  And my personal favorite of PerryAnn's "We'll have doggie play dates".   So I caved..  We have a dog.  Hopefully the play dates won't be a my house.

Your not making me look so good! Do you know how long RJ has wanted a doggie? Well, he is just going to have to wait! I'm not giving in. Good luck with the dog and the poop! She IS cute!
